Your Wedding Day is the one day that all eyes will be on you, so you better make sure to look your best by choosing the right wedding make-up artist!
Your wedding day is your time to shine so you want to choose the right make-up artist. Selecting the right make-up artist can be every bit as important as other big decisions, such as choosing a dress and photographer. Here are a few things to consider when making your decision:
The search for the right make-up artist may just be as daunting and stressful as deciding on all the other details of a wedding. I talked to my two of my favourite makeup artists Nuke Galdira and Marcellus Kasudarman to find out some tips and tricks to help you choose the right one.
According to Nuke when it comes to choosing the right makeup artist the most important is that you have seen the makeup artist work in person, in this digital time, it is very important not to rely just on photos or social media but to look at the artist work in a real person, because photos can be quiet deceiving. Every makeup artist has a signature style, you have to be sure that the makeup artist’s signature style is similar to the look that you want. It is also important for you to look at the makeup brands that the artist is using, and find out if you are allergic to the brand. The last thing you want is to have an allergy on your wedding day. For Marcel, what’s most important is to be comfortable with the makeup artist. Find someone who you can feel comfortable with in sharing your ideas and someone that you can trust in delivering those ideas.
Having a trial makeup is very important when creating the look that you want on your wedding day; you can discuss and exchange ideas with the makeup artist to get the best result on your wedding day, said Marcel, and Nuke couldn’t agree more, adding that the trial is to visualize the look that you want and to find the flaws and make changes to make it look the best.
After all the research, references and trials you should then be able to make the right decision. There’s no exact science here, so weigh the pros and cons of each make-up artist you are considering. And always remember to trust yourself.
